On Monday, September 30th, we kicked off our first Day of STEAM! It was an action-packed, fun-filled day of learning and exploration where creativity meets critical thinking, and learning knows no bounds! Day of STEAM events are special days outside of our regular instruction when scholars can immerse themselves in the world of STEAM and discover their passions.
STEAM education transcends traditional subject boundaries, creating a holistic learning environment where students can connect the dots between Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This interdisciplinary approach enriches the learning experience and equips students with critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, igniting innovation and revealing the interconnectedness of these crucial areas of learning.
The day consisted of hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and live demonstrations. REACH welcomed different programs from throughout the community who shared their insights and experiences, sparking curiosity and inspiring the next generation of innovators. From science experiments with the Discovery Cube, Parkour with Freedom in Motion, art with the Riverside Art Museum, to lego engineering and more, these activities catered to scholars of all grades. Scholars who engage in STEAM activities often discover a newfound passion for learning, which can lead them to pursue fulfilling careers in these fields. Day of STEAM is a stepping stone towards a brighter future, inspiring students to become innovators and underscoring the critical role of STEAM in shaping the future.
