School Attendance

All students are expected to arrive on-time by 7:45 a.m. and be in attendance daily. It is our school wide goal to maintain at least 96% of our students in attendance each day. It is REACH’s intent to identify and remove all barriers to the students' success, and attendance is directly correlated with success. REACH will explore every possible option to address student attendance issues with the family, if necessary. In the event that students need to stay home due to illness or extenuating circumstances, students must have absences cleared within 2 days of their return to school or the absence will be considered unexcused.

Please note students shall be classified as truant if the student is absent from school without a valid excuse three (3) full days in one school year, or if the student is tardy or absent for more than any 30 minute period during the school day without a valid excuse on three occasions in one school year, or any combination thereof. If a child’s attendance does not improve, the student may incur additional administrative action up to and including disenrollment from REACH, consistent with the Involuntary Removal Process.

California State Law mandates that all children age 6 to 18 years attend school unless they are exempted by law (E.C. section 48200, E.C. section 48400). Parents are reminded that they are responsible to comply with this compulsory education law by enrolling students and arranging for their regular attendance.

Thank you for actively working with us to ensure your child's success!
