Dr. Virgie Rentie entered education over 25 years ago believing that if students have access to High-Quality instruction, they can and will learn. Under Dr. Rentie's guidance and leadership, and with its teachers and staff's hard work, REACH has grown from 77 scholars on its first day of operation to over 600 scholars in 9 years. True to the school's mission and vision, REACH serves scholars from various racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Dr. Rentie holds a Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership, a Master's Degree in Education from Pepperdine University, and an Administrative Services Credential from the University of California at Irvine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and now holds an Early Childhood Director Permit from the California Department of Education.
As an ardent supporter of public education, Dr. Rentie believes that schools need to claim more time for learning to close the achievement gap for lower-performing students while providing different learning experiences, including cooperative learning, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration. Under Dr. Rentie's guidance and strong work ethic, REACH Leadership STEAM Academy's student-centered educational program continues to empower students to become innovative, independent thinkers who are knowledgeable about themselves, their community, and the world around them.
