Ruben Nolasco
Safety & Facilities Operations Manager
Ruben is a "Jack of All Trades." He has held many positions over the years, including yard duty, food delivery, art education, janitorial work, maintenance, operations, security, academic intervention, or just filling in wherever needed. Before working at REACH, he worked with Dr. Rentie in site supervision and the after-school program at her previous school.
Today, Ruben is the head of our Facilities and Safety Department and has been with REACH since 2012, running day-to-day operations. He oversees facilities and grounds maintenance, project management with contractors in capital projects, safety, emergency planning, and traffic supervision.
With all of his experience, Ruben believes that a good education can lead to success, especially in impoverished communities. He considers charter schools to be unique in that they can choose the type of curriculum and tailor it to what works for each student. For instance, at REACH, the teachers and administration hold regular data meetings to review and match data to meet the needs of each student.
In addition, Ruben feels that REACH is distinctive because we teach and provide teachers, staff, and students the time to implement our six core values. He thinks our school community is a fantastic blend of play and hard work as we promote a fun environment through events and activities and hold our students to a higher level of accountability.
Mr. Ruben grew up in Riverside, California, where he earned his Bachelor's degree at CBU in Liberal Arts. Ruben attends church every Sunday and goes to lunch right after. He loves to camp and fish with his family and watch his son ride his bike while walking around his neighborhood in his free time.
