Judi Lynn Jenkins has been a valued member of the REACH staff since 2012, and her dedication to education is evident in every aspect of her work. She firmly believes that education is a gateway to dreams, enabling students to discover their true selves and unlock their passions and potential. Judi Lynn highlights the unique advantages of charter schools, noting their ability to choose and tailor curricula, technology, and programs to meet the diverse needs of students. At REACH, she admires the school's commitment to creating its own traditions and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where every member of the community feels valued.
Having been with REACH since its inception, Judi Lynn has witnessed the school's evolution firsthand. She has worn many hats at REACH, including roles such as executive assistant to the executive director, reception, temporary acting board secretary during the formation of the REACH school board, attendance, health office, and nutrition. In 2015, she transitioned into the role of Discipline Coordinator, where she has made a significant impact. Over the years, Judi Lynn has implemented and overseen several key initiatives, including the Student Council, where she has served as an advisor for six years, and the flag team, which she has advised for five years. She has also been the Restorative Practices Coordinator and a Leadership Instructor for grades 3-6, and she has facilitated teacher training as part of the “Reach Rocks” summer professional development days.
Judi Lynn's career in youth education spans over 25 years, during which she has worked with both teens and elementary students. Her experience includes student teaching at a nonpublic school for emotionally disturbed students, where she revamped an entire course and significantly improved student attendance and academic performance. She began her academic journey at Marymount University and furthered her studies in the Leadership and Organizational Skills BOLD Program at Biola University. Her studies also include Black History at Southwest College, and she earned a personal development certification from MRT to become a personal development coach. Additionally, Judi Lynn is a platform speaker on Character Education and Responsibility Skills and a Teacher Trainer with expertise in directing and writing plays for teenage youth.
Judi Lynn is a mother of four, including two biological sons and two children she foster-adopted. Her long-standing career has been dedicated to working with young people, and at REACH, she continues to excel as an Administrator of Leadership and Discipline Coordinator. In her new role as Restorative Practices Coordinator and Leadership Coach, Judi Lynn remains committed to helping students develop empathy, make better choices, and grow into responsible and compassionate individuals.
