Katherine Wicks
Intervention Coordinator
Katie Wicks grew up in Chesterfield, Virginia. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, where she obtained her Psychology and Early Childhood Education degree. After finishing college and my first two years teaching, she moved to North Carolina, where she taught there for three years. From North Carolina, Wicks then made her way to California in 2015.
Mrs. Wicks was a teacher for 13 years. She taught Pre-K (TK), first grade, and many years in Kindergarten. She is currently the Intervention Coordinator, SST Coordinator, 504 Coordinator, and TK Coach at REACH. Mrs. Wicks’ personal goal is to continue building capacity within her department. As she considers herself a life-long learner, she wants to continue to push her team to grow and better themselves in their role within education.
At REACH, she loves the house system and the community it builds. She feels she is able to connect with students from every grade level and build relationships with staff from each department on campus. It also creates friendly competition among us, which carries home as her daughter is Ukulu.
