Mathematics is an essential skill for life, and instilling a love for numbers in young minds is a mission many schools take to heart. REACH recently hosted a Math Night event that showcased the wonders of mathematics and left a lasting impact on scholars and families.
REACH is committed to providing a well-rounded education for its scholars. Recognizing the significance of math education, the school organized a Math Night event to foster a love for mathematics among its young learners. Hosted by one of REACH’s assistant principals, Mrs. Jimenez, the event aimed to engage students, parents, and the community in a fun and educational way of learning more about Singapore Math and how to implement strategies at home.
At REACH, we use the Dimensions Math Curriculum. The series teaches skills and concepts from various angles to increase student comprehension. Children have the opportunity to improve their mental math abilities and become fluent in math facts through engaging games and activities included in the sessions.
The atmosphere was electric, with students eagerly diving into math challenges and parents joining in on the excitement. It was a night when numbers came to life, and math was no longer just a subject in school but a source of joy and inspiration.
Scholars reported increased confidence in their math skills, and parents praised the school for fostering a positive attitude toward mathematics. The success of this year's Math Nights has inspired REACH to plan similar events in the future. REACH wants to continue nurturing a love for mathematics in its students and strengthening the bonds between the school, students, and the community.
